Did you know SteelPumps with red caps, the XAJE80G1 versions, are also made by SteelPumps?
It is the same as the standard SteelPump XAJE80P except for the colour of the end caps. As well as servicing all standard models of SteelPumps, we also repair and service OEM versions such as the XAJE80G1. Although SteelPumps UK doesn’t cover this model for warranty purposes we will certainly inspect and quote for repair as we do for any other out-of-warranty SteelPump.
The X-AJE80G1 is not covered for warranty purposes by SteelPumps UK, it is an EU model. SteelPumps UK handles warranties for UK models only. It is equivalent to the X-AJE80P and uses the same parts. If your X-AJE80G1 pump is out of warranty and needs servicing or repairing contact us for advice. We will always quote before proceeding.
As well as maintaining pumps that have failed over time or from installation issues, we will also repair damage caused by impact and mishandling.
How to get maximum life from a submerged automatic pump
To ensure maximum service life from a submerged automatic pump, ensure the non-return valve is fitted to the inlet and the connection is sealed with PTFE or other sealant. Fit a pressure vessel if there’s room. After installation, when the system is up to pressure and the pump switches off, watch it for a few minutes to ensure it’s not restarting due to leaks. If you only use the pump in the garden or for car wash-down, consider switching the pump off at the mains between uses. Avoid use with small drip irrigation systems that only use a few litres per minute. The minimum flow rate for sufficient motor cooling for SteelPumps models is 6 litres per minute.
